Heroes Of The Storm Unlock Hero Rotation Slot

Posted on  by

Heroes of the Storm’s hero rotation element was leaked a while back, but now Blizzard has clarified exactly how the rotation will function in a recent blog post. As well as breaking down hero rotations, Blizzard dropped some information on hero customisation, mounts and how players will earn experience.

Every week, starting on Tuesdays, players will be able to choose from five free heroes in the weekly rotation. Upon reaching level 7, an extra slot will be unlocked, putting the total at six free heroes every week.

These heroes will also be available to purchase, which can be done through in-game gold, earned by completing quests and dailies post-level 5. Before purchasing them, there will be an option to take them for a test drive.

Mar 20, 2018  If variety is the spice of life, then Heroes of the Storm is the MOBA genre’s ghost pepper. Recognizable characters from Blizzard’s most iconic games face off. The store closed on September 22, 2014. After that, all Heroes were temporarily free to play until September 29, 2014. On December 8, 2015, the weekly rotation was expanded from seven to ten free Hero slots. From April 8 to 11, 2016, all Heroes became temporarily free to play to celebrate the Heroes of the Dorm grand final. Mar 12, 2014  Once you accumulate enough experience and reach Level 7, you’ll also unlock an additional weekly hero rotation slot, giving you a total of six free heroes to choose from each week. The hero rotations are updated every Tuesday, so make sure to check-back often to see which weekly heroes are available for free-play.

The “Try Me” feature can be used for any hero, regardless of whether or not they are in that weekly rotation. This trial won’t allow players to use the hero in regular match, rather they are restricted to closed custom maps. This does, however, mean that players will be able to tweak the settings of the map to test the heroes in different situations.

Heroes can also be bought with real-world currency and unlocked through other means, such as pre-ordering Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, which nets you Valla the Demon Hunter.

Skins and tints will be available for all heroes, unlocked through play and through purchasing them. Each skin will have two extra tints on top of the heroes vanilla tint, with the two extra ones unlocking through completion of hero quests. The ridiculous murloc skin for Diablo is undoubtedly going to be a favourite.

Mounts, which all players will have, can also be customised. Each player starts with one free mount and a free tint, with at least three more being available. New mounts will require players to drop real money, with a unique mount being offered to players who spend cash during the alpha and beta phases.

Levelling up, which unlocks perks like earning gold or certain quests, is – unsurprisingly – done by gaining experience. Experience is earned by winning games, playing with friends and one’s in-game achievements. Daily quests, unlocked at level 6, offer bonus experience, while hero quests, unlocked at levels 10 and 20, offer new customisation options on top the experience gains.

With the technical alpha getting ever closer, Blizzard’s also put together a preview of what you can expect from it. The in-game shop, progression, game modes and the tutorial are showcase.

Next Hero In Heroes Of The Storm

Heroes of the Storm, like other MOBAs, will benefit from weekly character rotations, and today, Blizzard explained its plans for the title.

Each week, players will have five heroes to choose from as part of the free weekly rotation.

According to community manager K. LeCrone, once players reach level seven and accumulate enough experience, they will also be able to unlock an additional weekly hero rotation slot. This will give the player six free heroes to choose from each week.

The hero rotations will be updated every Tuesday, but players can use in-game gold to purchase heroes they have taken a liking to.

Additionally, players who pre-order Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will be granted a future unlock of Valla the Demon Hunter at no additional cost.

The MOBA will also allow players to unlock and purchase a variety of custom appearance skins with three tints available. The first tint is free, and the two additional tints can be unlocked for individual heroes through Hero Quests. The first unlockable tint is awarded after completing an individual hero’s second Hero Quest, and the second unlockable tint is awarded after completing an individual hero’s fourth Hero Quest.

Heroes of the Storm also contains a mount system and a variety will be made available and will be customizable.

The MOBA is currently in a technical alpha test and Blizzard will be sending out invites to a very limited number of players before expanding the pool as testing continues.
